USA U-20s vs. Panama: Player Ratings and Some Game Stats

The U-20s finished out group play with a solid 2-0 win against Panama. Rowe netted two goals early and USA dominated the first half while the second half was less than impressive. USA moves on to play Guatemala in four days, the winner being one of four teams to represent CONCACAF at the U-20 World Cup.

Player Ratings

Kelyn Rowe - (13.5...11/1.5) - Great start to the game. Good to see pose in tight situations to put the ball in the net. Very promising.

Gregory Garza - (11...9/2) - Not incredibly strong and needs to be more aware on his free kicks to not send then in so low with a close defender but his creativity is encouraging and exciting to watch.

Eder Arreola - (11...9/2) - Not sure where this guy has been but I was really impressed with how aggressive he was with the ball and without it. A great work ethic.

Perry Kitchen - (9...7/2) - Similar in having that desire to work. He plays smart, disruptive defense. Offensively he's interesting because his short passing game is solid (and is willing to run off the ball instead of watching as a defender) and I like that he is looking upfield for a counter but his distribution was off, at the very least, this game. If he can connect on his longer passes instead of resulting the pass into an automatic turnover then he'll really improve the offense.

Sebastian Lletget - (9...6/3) - Either hit or miss... I want to see some more time with him to give him a thumbs up or down. More than adequate touch but, minus the assist, I was unsure about his passing... Definitely more good than bad though.

Omar Salgado - (9...7/2) - I was really impressed with Salgado coming in off the bench and trying to spark a deflated offense. Either he isolated himself or his team wasn't helping too much though. I'd like to see him use his body a little bit more but his vision is good and any offense that did exist while he was in the game was largely due to him.

Gale Agbossoumonde - (7...4.5/2.5) - Classic strong defender with little offensive contribution. Shut down Panama's attack, out of fairness.

Zarek Valentin - (7...5.5/1.5) - Attack usually went on the other side of the field both for and against USA. Potential on passing and vision.

Conor Doyle - (7...5/2) - I hear buzz about Doyle but he disappears for large portions of the game. He was named the man of the match despite the write up only naming him once on a play that he didn't even touch the ball (although it was a fairly awesome dummy). If his defense were impeccable (which may be the case) I could understand but he flies under the radar far too much.

Sebastien Ibeagha - (6...4.5/1.5) - Clearance could be an issue but did well with what he was given.

Zac MacMath - (5.5...5/0.5) - Follows Howard's brashness. Promising.

Bobby Wood - (3.5...3.5/0) - I assume he pulled something in the game but the drop off in USA's production is eerily right after Wood leaves the field.

Moises Orozco - (1...0.5/0.5) - Enjoys poetry.

Moises Hernandez - (0.5...0.5/0) - Hates mechanical pencils.
